Planning for the Loon Festival, Lincoln’s annual summer celebration, is in full swing! We are excited to be able to have the festival this year and can’t wait to see everyone July 15-18. This year’s theme is Loonstock, so dig out the tie dye and shine up the VW bus!

Thursday, July 15

8am-2pm: Friends of the Lincoln Memorial Library book sale at the Library

9am-3pm: Open House at the Lincoln Historical Society

11am: Vendors and Kiddie games at Veterans Memorial Square (All Day)

11am-8pm: Bounce House at Cobb Field. $1 entry

4pm: 73rd Annual River Drivers’ Supper at Ludden Field.  Bean hole beans, reflector oven biscuits, coleslaw, hot dogs, chips, coffee, punch, water, and desserts by the riverside. Sponsored by the First Congo Church Men’s Club and Pilgrim Daughters. Supper will be moved to the Congo Church if it rains

4-5:30pm: Maine St. Andrews Pipes & Drums at Veteran’s Memorial Square

5-7pm: Dysart’s Cruise-In, 199 W. Broadway. Come look at the classic and muscle cars. Vote for your favorite vehicle

6-9pm: Forester’s Pub, 204 W. Broadway. Featuring live music from Jamie Barton, delicious beers from Geaghan’s, and a special menu

7pm-10pm: Adult Dance at Cobb Field with the Errol Libby Band

 

Friday, July 16

11:30am-7pm: Roaming Railroad train rides. See what’s happening from the comfort of a care-free ride around downtown to Prince Thomas Park and Cobb Field

12-1:30pm: The StrumDingers ukulele group at Veterans Memorial Square

12-3pm: Guest appearance by Miss Maine 2021, Mariah Larocque, escorted by Miss Maine 1977

12-3pm: Children’s beach events at Prince Thomas Park. Water balloon toss, life jacket relay, messy obstacle course and CANDY!!!!

2:30-9pm: Enjoy hosts Troy and Mark as they entertain us with their musings on “Welcome to Maine.” They will be traveling between Cobb Field and Veterans Memorial Square introducing various musical guests

2:30-3:30pm: Musical group Downeast Brass Quintet at Veterans Memorial Square. The quintet will also appear in the Parade.

4-6pm: Seniors Dance at Veterans Memorial Square with the Wildwoods Band

6-7:30pm: Pink Polar Bear at Cobb Field

8-11pm: Rock Band and local favorite Head Rush at Cobb Field

 

Saturday, July 17

10am-2pm: Poland Spring Hydration Station at Veterans Memorial Square.  Stop by and enjoy a nice, cool drink of Poland Spring water. And if you arrive early, you will receive a 26 oz. premium Poland Spring water bottle

10am-2pm: Roaming Railroad train rides.  See what’s happening from the comfort of a care-free ride around downtown to Prince Thomas Park and Cobb Field

10:30-11am: Children’s Parade begins at Public Safety and ends at the Lincoln Memorial Library

11am: 2021 Annual Loonstock Festival Parade.  Bring a chair and enjoy the floats and antics of the Anah Shriner groups. Prizes given in several categories

11am-1pm: Art Fun at the Library and the Library will be open during the parade front entrance only.  

11am-4pm: American Legion Auxiliary is having a tag sale at the American Legion Hall. Refreshments available, cool atmosphere and all items by donation. 

11am-8pm: Bounce House at Cobb Field. $1 entry

12:30pm: Vendors and Kiddie games at Veterans Memorial Square (All Day)

12-2pm: Lincoln Historical Society Annual Auction at Veterans Memorial Square. Bring a chair to the auction in the square

1:30pm: Day one of the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at Prince Thomas Park. 3 to 5 members on a team. $5.00 entry fee. Call 207-794-6548 for more info

2:00pm: Redneck Regatta, sponsored by the Lincoln Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce at Prince Thomas Park Beach.  Come view homemade flotation devices created with cardboard and duct tape racing around buoys.  For more info on entry rules, please email llrcc2@gmail.com.

2:30-4:15pm: Rock Band Low Talker at Cobb Field

7:30am: Registration for Family Fun Color Run

8:00am: Family Fun Color Run race begins. (Most people walk.) Mattanawcook Academy Football Field, benefitting the Paper Crane Project by donation.  Wear a white T-Shirt and friends along the way will throw colors. Call 794-5269 for more info

11am-3pm: Art Walk at the Library. Meet the local artists and crafters inside and outside. Also a Pet Photo Contest, due July 11. Prizes for top three photos
