2016 Homecoming Loon Festival July 21st – 24th

Don’t miss Lincoln’s premier family-friendly summer festival, with food, music, artisans, vendors, train rides, beach events and activities for the kids. Featured events include the Redneck Regatta, 68th Annual River Driver’s Supper, Basketball Tournament, Fireworks Show, and much more.

SCHEDULE

Thursday July 21

9am-2pm: Friends of the Lincoln Memorial Library book sale – Library

11am: Vendors and kiddie games at Veterans’ Memorial Square (All Day)

4pm: 69th Annual River Drivers’ Supper at Ludden Field. Bean hole beans, reflector oven biscuits, coleslaw, hotdogs, chips, coffee, punch and water and desserts by the riverside. Sponsored by the First Congo Church Men’s Club and Pilgrim Daughters. Supper will be moved to the Congo Church if rain.

7pm:-10pm: Teen Dance at Veterans’ Memorial Square  with Dj chuck Foster.

7pm-9pm: Zumba-Thon. Junior high tennis courts (MJH gym if rain) $10.00 adults, $5.00 students. All proceeds benefit Champion the Cure.

 

 Friday July 22

9am-11:00am: TD Bank will host a book reading by local Author and Photographer, Roger Stevens. Roger will be read his book, “A Day at the Fair.”

11am: Vendors  and kiddie games at Veterans’ Memorial Square (All Day)

 11:30-7pm: Roaming Railroad train rides. See what’s happening from the comfort of a care free ride around downtown.

Noon-3pm: Children’s beach events at Prince Thomas Park. Water balloon toss, life jacket relay, messy obstacle course and CANDY!!!!

4pm-6pm: Community Kids BBQ at Steaks N’ Stuff parking lot. BBQ chicken, potato salad, coleslaw baked beans and drinks. $7.00 for adults. Kids 12 and under $5.00.

4pm-7pm: Wildwoods band at Veterans’ Memorial Square.

6pm: Colossal Ice Cream eating contest, Tim Horton’s

8pm-11pm:  Lennie and the Myzfitz adult dance at Veterans’ Memorial Square.

 

Saturday July 23

6am-9am: Annual Masons Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice.

10-2pm: Roaming Railroad Train Rides. Free rides around downtown. See all the

goings on from the comfort of a breezy train ride!

10:30am: Children’s Parade. Public Safety building start.

11am: Vendors and kiddie games at Veterans’ Memorial Square (All Day)

11am: 2016 Annual Homecoming parade. ‘Lake Living’

During Parade: Knights of Columbus BBQ at Cole Whitney Parking lot.

1pm: Historical Society Auction at Veterans’ Memorial Square.  Bring a chair to the auction in the square!

1:30pm:  Day one of the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at Prince Thomas Park. 15 years old and up, 3 to 5 man teams, $5.00 entry fee.  Call 207-794-6548 for more info.

2:00 pm: Boneless Hot Wing Eating Challenge, sponsored by Gillmor Restaurant, in front of Machias Savings Bank at Veterans Memorial Square. Must be 18 to enter. Register at Gillmor Restaurant up until 1:45 pm on Saturday the 23rd. NO ENTRY FEE!!!

5:30pm: Loon calling contest at Cobb Field. Lincoln Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.

6pm:  Annual Alumni dinner at Mattanawcook Academywalk this way band

7pm-8:30: Pre-firework show with Aerosmith Tribute band, The Walk This Way Band at Cobb Field. Sponsored by Machias Savings Bank.

9:15ish: Grand fireworks show on Mattanawcook Lake at Cobb Field.

 

Sunday July 24

Annual Run/Walk for Wellness (POSTPONED!)

Penobscot Valley Hospital, Health Access Network and the Active Community Environment Team of Lincoln are organizing this year’s Run/Walk for Wellness. There will be a 1 mile Kids Fun Run, 5k and 10k on new courses utilizing the Lincoln walking trails at the Mattanawcook Academy. People of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to participate, including competitive runners, speed walkers , casual walkers and parents with young kids.

 

1pm: 3 on 3 Basketball tournament at Prince Thomas park, day 2. Double elimination, 15 years old and up, 3 to 4 man teams. $5.00 entry fee. More info call 207-794-6548.
